About MOUG-L

MOUG-L is an electronic discussion list for the dissemination of information and the discussion of issues and topics of interest to music library professionals. Postings routinely include discussions of music cataloging issues, OCLC products and services related to music cataloging and reference work, announcements, and information about conferences and other professional development opportunities. MOUG-L is an open discussion list; anyone may subscribe.

Originally established at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, by Cheryl Taranto, the list has served the organization as a discussion medium since 2000. In 2008, the list was moved to the University of Kentucky and was hosted by Kerri Scannell Baunach. On July 27, 2016, the list was moved to OCLC. The current co-listowners are Eric Childress and Morris Levy.

  • Send an e-mail message to listserv@oclclists.org with the subject line blank. In the body of your message, type ONLY the following (no signature): SUBSCRIBE MOUG-L YOUR NAME (substituting your own name; commands are not case-sensitive).
  • New subscribers are automatically added to the list.

How to change your subscription address:

  • Send an e-mail message from the old address to listserv@oclclists.org with the subject line blank. In the body of your message, type ONLY the following (no signature): CHANGE MOUG-L NEW@ADDRESS (substituting your new address; commands are not case-sensitive).
  • Contact the list owner if you are unable to send a message from an old email account.
